DevOpsDays - the worldwide series of tech conferences that bring Development and Operations together is coming to Copenhagen on April 24th-25th
To warm up for this conference, we have planned a meet-up with the theme “Infrastructure as code”.
We are going to have 2 talks during this gathering:
Everything as Code at Kamstrup - Bo Hansen & Bruno Thomsen, Kamstrup
Kamstrup is world leading manufacturer of system solutions for smart energy and water metering. Kamstrup has a very diverse platform from cloud based .NET solutions to embedded programming. Both scenarios has specific issue regarding the infrastructure needed to build, release and test software.
Bo Hansen and Bruno Thomsen will describe how they have solved some of their issues with reproducible and versioned infrastructure as code, in both a Windows and a Linux world.
Managing complex Windows environments - Martin Amdisen, Praqma
Configuring machines and installing software manually brings major pains, such as configuration drift and lack of reproducibility. It is a process that needs to be automated in order to scale.
During the last year and a half, Martin Amdisen has been introducing Chef as an automation tool in the Siemens Gamesa DevOps group. Doing infrastructure as code has enabled us to grow and maintain a pool of build and test machines used by several software teams.
This talk describes the lessons learned and what to plan for when moving to infrastructure as code.
